Hello work from home family! Today I’m announcing a new feature on my blog: the New Entrepreneur Feature. In it, I’ll highlight new businesses started by my readers and not only give them some good exposure, but also use their experience as an example of how to start a business the right way.

For the first blog in this series, I’d like to introduce you to Michael Vanatta. Mike is a real estate development expert, who also happens to have 45 years of sales and marketing experience, including the all-important internet and social media marketing skills.

He recently retired, but as you can imagine with someone who has achieved so much in his life, sitting around didn’t last for long.

So, living near the beach, he began taking pictures of the sunrise from Vero Beach, Florida. The photographs are beautiful. I’ve highlighted a couple of them in this post, and you can see the rest of them here.

It wasn’t long after that someone asked him if he could put one of his beach sunrise photographs on canvas. He did, and that has since led to additional orders.

It’s a perfect example of someone who has the entrepreneurial bug combined with passion. In this case, it’s leading to a successful venture that’s far from his life’s work.

Sales and marketing is an essential part of running a successful business, and Mike’s experience with it will play an integral part in the growth of his business.

How to Get in on the Free Drawing

Mike is currently holding a free drawing for a 16” x 20” canvas print of one of his sunrise photographs. To enter, simply send an email to Mike at mnvanatta@gmail.com with the words “canvas print” in the subject line. The drawing will take place on July 4, and Mike says he will contact all the entrants to let them know who won the canvas.
